Yasmine Zaeni, DDS
Childrens Dentist
In the Children's Department, Dr. Yasmine Zaeni and staff enjoy creating a warm, fun and informative atmosphere for our young patients and their family members. Dr. Zaeni, a bay area native, received her Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology from UC Berkeley. She then went on to the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco for her dental training where she graduated with honors. Dr. Zaeni is a member of the American Dental Association, The California Dental Association and The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
She believes in a gentle, patient, multi-faceted approach to complete oral health. In her free time, Dr. Zaeni enjoys skiing in the Sierra and spending time with her family. She looks forward to meeting you!

Steve Holifield, DDS
Endodontist
Dr. Holifield was raised in Sacramento and spent his youth traveling around the country and has been in all 50 states. After attending UC Davis, he received his Bachelor's degree in biophysics from UC Berkeley in 1980. He graduated from UCLA School of Dentistry in 1984, and practiced general dentistry in Sacramento for eleven years.
Dr. Holifield received his specialty certificate in endodontics from Tufts University in Boston, where he was an instructor. He practiced endodontics in Massachusetts and New Hampshire before returning to California in 1998. He is a past president of the Northern California Academy of Endodontics.
Dr. Holifield has been married for 25 years and has three children. He enjoys spending time with his family, and he stays active participating and sharing in their activities.

Brand Ahn, DMD
Periodontist
Dr. Ahn graduated from the University of Chicago, received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Columbia University in New York and completed his postgraduate training in Periodontics at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Ahn holds a position at the UOP School of Dentistry where he focuses on teaching periodontal surgery. He is the co-author of multiple publications and is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Ahn joined Parkside Dental Team in 2004

Hengameh Karkhanechi, DDS
Orthodontist
Dr. Karkhanechi is a certified orthodontist that has been living and practicing orthodontics in Northern California since 2001.
“Dr K” received her Bachelor degree in Biochemistry and Cell biology from University of California, San Diego in 1994 with honors. In 1998 she graduated from University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree, she was given The Dean’s Award for her achievements in dental school.
“Dr. K” went on to specialize in orthodontics in New York University, where she received her orthodontic degree in 2001. Dr. K is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontics, California Dental Association and Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics.
In addition to practicing orthodontics, Dr. K is also an assistant clinical professor of Orthodontics at the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. Her involvement with academics allows her to have first hand exposure to the latest clinical and research techniques.
When she is not practicing orthodontics, Dr. K enjoys spending time with her family. She loves skiing and enjoys swimming, hiking, cycling, painting, reading, and listening to music..

Dr. Schaller was born and raised on a dairy farm in Southern Illinois. He attended Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, graduating with a B.A. in Biology. He then received his DMD degree at Washington University School of Dentistry in St. Louis where he was awarded the Anna E. Bredall award for clinical proficiency. He then spent 2 years as an Air Force Dentist in Europe. After military service he came back to complete 3 years of Oral Surgery Specialty residency at Cook County Hospital/Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.
In December of 1996 Dr. Schaller joined the Parkside Dental Team where he enjoys practicing Oral Surgery.
Dr. Schaller has now returned to the farm where he enjoys growing wine grapes, restoring WWII aircraft and performing open cockpit aerobatics.
